Kamilia Boyes - Content Manager

Kamilia joined EQuerry as an intern whilst she was completing her BSc (Hons) International Equine and Agricultural Business Management degree. We supported Kamilia in her dissertation, “An Investigation Into The Most Effective Promotional Strategies For Equine-Related Businesses”. The research aimed to uncover some of the most effective promotional activities that equine-related businesses can utilise to promote themselves and the data is something we as an agency successfully rely on in most of what we do, from developing audience demographics for paid campaigns or putting together wider marketing strategies, or content for social media. Kamilia’s role has adapted during her time with us, she now heads up our design team and oversees all content creation in her role as Content Marketing Manager.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Getting to blend creativity with strategy. I love the process of turning ideas into engaging visual content, and there’s something really rewarding about seeing the final product come to life, especially when you know it’s also working towards a business goal. I also really enjoy the collaborative side of the job - bouncing ideas around with the team, staying curious about trends, and constantly learning from the different brands and people we work with. No two days are ever the same, and that keeps things exciting.

Biggest trend predictions for 2025?

I think we’re going to see more equestrian businesses recognise the power of podcast advertising. It’s still relatively untapped, but it’s such a powerful and personal space for connecting with niche audiences who are already deeply engaged. Another, perhaps more obvious, but equally important trend is the ongoing rise of welfare-led messaging. Consumers are increasingly conscious of how animals and the environment are treated, and that’s definitely filtering into equestrian marketing. Brands that are transparent about their values, showcase ethical practices, and put horse welfare at the centre of their storytelling will likely lead the way.

Stand-out project and/or result?

Our first season working at Hickstead was definitely a highlight for me. One of the reels we produced went viral, receiving over 40 million views across Instagram and Facebook, and it was fascinating to see how that level of reach unfolded in real time. It taught me a lot about managing momentum and navigating both the excitement and unpredictability that come with content taking off at that scale. That kind of visibility also translated into some amazing results over the three-month competition period - their Instagram account grew by 15K followers and Facebook by 32K. This set the bar high when we returned for the 2024 season, but it was incredibly rewarding to see that several of our reels surpassed 1 million views, and the Instagram following grew by another 11K.
